Arithmetic
Pronunciation: /əˈrɪθ.mə.tɪk/ Explain
Arithmetic is the branch of mathematics dealing with
computing with numbers.
Basic arithmetic involves addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and
taking roots of numbers. Number theory, which includes
divisibility of numbers, prime numbers, and remainders left after division, is
sometimes called theoretical arithmetic.
